"Good Faith" estimate. Under the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
A Good Faith Estimate includes the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, from any health care provider you choose. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
24-hour cancellation policy. For late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no-shows (15 minutes after scheduled appointment time), a fee of 50% of your session rate will be charged to your card on file.
All communications between you and your therapist are held in strict confidence unless you provide permission in writing to release information about your treatment.
Exceptions to confidentiality include cases of threat to someone's safety, including child or elder abuse; or by court order from a judge.
