Is this you? Here are just a few examples of clients I am best able to help.
I feel down, hopeless, and disinterested
I'm worried, restless, and constantly anxious
I doubt my decisions, feel like an impostor, and self-criticize
I'm exhausted from taking care of others
I'm straining from carrying the burden of past traumas
I'm emotionally blocked, and struggle in relationships
What you can expect in therapy:
A safe place to share, to feel your emotions genuinely, to be heard
Support and encouragement as we work through tough subjects or painful memories, at a pace that's manageable for you
Gently and firmly holding us both to working toward your therapeutic goals
Your responsibility in therapy:
To share your thoughts and feelings, to dig deep where you can, and to explore the full spectrum of your emotions
To challenge yourself to confront your struggles, in an open-minded and curious way
To hold yourself accountable and continue the work outside the therapy session
I am currently seeing clients age 18 years and over, including but not limited to:
INDIVIDUALS
Those who want to heal/renew/conquer/make peace with [fill in the blank].
COUPLES
Partners who might be speaking different emotional/psychological languages.
YOUNG ADULTS
Those who are figuring out how to find their way in a world where "adulting" has become a unique generational struggle. Inquire about special rates for currently enrolled students.
PRE-LICENSED THERAPISTS
Those who are learning how to do therapy sometimes need a little help themselves.
HSPs (Highly Sensitive Persons)
Those who struggle with the challenge of having a disposition that experiences everything more intensely and sometimes overwhelmingly.
I draw from several approaches to therapy, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The way you think, the way you feel, and what you do are inextricably linked. We’ll break down this triangle, develop and practice mindfulness skills, and put you back in the driver’s seat.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
"How are you feeling?" Often we just don’t have the time, energy, or desire to come up with an honest answer. Therapy is a dedicated place to examine and fully experience emotions. We’ll use the experience to help you gain awareness, understanding, and new ways to cope.
Narrative Therapy
We are defined by the narratives we create about ourselves and how we tell them. By exploring these together, we’ll find out who or what has been doing the writing – and help you retake your place as author to write your authentic story.
Existential Therapy
You’re probably not reading this if you think life is easy. Anxiety, in its myriad forms, can perhaps be boiled down to the fact that we don’t have all the answers; but we still have to get up every day and make decisions about how to live our lives. We’ll face fears together, and help you embrace the freedom you have to build a meaningful life.
